Is Website speeds are really that important?
Yes! It is, According to surveys done by Akamai and Gomez.com, nearly half of web users expect a site to load in 2 seconds or less, and they tend to abandon a site that isn’t loaded within 3 seconds. 79% of web shoppers who have trouble with web site performance say they won’t return to the site to buy again and around 44% of them would tell a friend if they had a poor experience shopping online.
This means you’re not just losing conversions from visitors currently on your site, but that loss is magnified to their friends and colleagues as well. The end result – lots of potential sales down the drain because of a few seconds difference.
So how do we measure the performance and speed of a website?
Well, there are a few tools available around the internet where you can see your sites performance and problem causing lower performance. Some of them is listed below.
- Google Page Speed Insights (https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/)
- Pingdom Tools (https://tools.pingdom.com/)
- GTMetrix (https://gtmetrix.com/)
With wordpress, 100% performance is almost never achievable, but it can be taken upto 98%.
How do I plan to do it?
- Optimizing your image using loseless compression.
- Enabling leverage browser caching.
- Minifying Java Script, HTML and CSS.
- Adding LazyLoad feature to allow for quick loading.
- Optimizing your Database
- Setting Up CDN (for additional 5 $)
I will setup basic CDN with Cloudflare free account. But if you have purchased CDN from elsewhere, I can deal with that too.
I can setup yoast seo plugin for your on-page optimization too. (This wont have a impact on your speed or performance but you will rank better on Search Engines.)
For a free performance checkup and my advice on that performance you can always inbox me. I will be more than happy to help.
