Would you start an email training program for your SEOClerks affiliates?

    Most people post an affiliate link and forget it. They don't bother trying to follow up with the person signing up through that link, even to provide basic guidance.

    What do you think about the idea of having your potential affiliates join your affiliate support/marketing newsletter BEFORE they sign up for your SEOClerks affiliate link? After all, training your affiliates with tips, guidelines how-to's is likely the best way to ensure they have the tools needed to succeed. Maybe this idea could apply to any kind of affiliate marketing, even Amazon affiliates.

    If you're engaged in affiliate email training in any way, whether for your SEOClerks affiliates or any other affiliate program, let me know what techniques you are using.

    I have never thought of doing something like this for my SEOClerks affiliates but I can see some benefits by doing so. However, what I usually do when I bring people to join through my affiliate ID's are to explain everything they need to do, before they sign up. So they have enough knowledge to proceed on their own when they've signed up and created their account. I cover all the things I find necessary and after that, they're on their own with a small twist. As I would never leave any of my clients or affiliates in the dark I always provide support, no matter what they need. I sell myself as a human, as a support pillar and as someone my clients, partners and affiliates can count on. I provide quality in more ways than the services I sell and make money from. I establish relationships and I always build reputation, in one way or another.

    With that being said, I do what you've stated but in other ways, at least from my perspective but I can truly see huge potential by changing up my own methods. The only thing I need, is to see things outside the box, come up with a brilliant idea and begin. Thank you!

    Providing after-the-sale customer support or affiliate mentorship is an excellent personal branding technique. Being a helpful go-to kind of guy ensures your customers and affiliates think of you first. In this situation, it's even more advantageous to 'train' your affiliates in some ways as those are the people who are making purchases - whether your services or from others.

    I was trying to do this before. From my point of view, after sale support work better for some reason and for some affiliates, specially here at Seoclerks. I was contacting them occasionally with little guides and mostly on forum's "coupon code" treads, so they can buy more and yet save while shopping. So it's not bad idea at all. People start feeling comfortable and cared about when you provide such care, so it's another way in building trust in you as a mentor and also website where they have bin registered.

    I have tried to send my affiliates messages whenever a free $5 coupon has appeared within the forum, just as a brief reminder of both the coupon but also as a reminder of SEOClerks marketplace (as not every affiliate is active). That being said, I have more than 1,100 affiliates so it's really not something I can do manually. I've actually suggested a "mass message your affiliates" option a long time ago, but haven't heard anything about it. Such an option would be perfect to interact with your affiliates quickly. Just like sending a newsletter to your email list. Write it once and everyone gets it.

    I think that it is a good idea to keep in touch with affiliates. Sometimes many simply click on the affiliate link you promote, and stop there. But that is not going to get you anywhere. They need to be active in order for you to get a commission. So it makes a lot of sense to use such a method to encourage them to actually do something once they are members. A reminder from time to time, or some quick guidelines could work wonders for many people. I never tried it actually but I will keep in mind for sure.
