High volume traffic is the life-blood of your website. And, there are many benefits of attracting high quality traffic to your site. A site without traffic has no value to Google and won't rank well. Without a good flow of traffic, noone would want to advertise on your site and then you would not be able to earn income via Adsense or other ad sources.

What is your best way to generate highest quality traffic?

A website without traffic is simply useless. There are various ways to get high quality traffic, including:
1. Make sure the site is SEO friendly.
2. Make sure that the content is updated regularly, and that the content is informative and valuable to visitors.
3. Make good use of social media as they can help a lot in getting more traffic.
4. Implements an online advertising campaign that will help you to attract quality traffic. Facebook ads seem to be offering great results at affordable prices to many businesses. Bing Ads and Google AdWords are renowned to help as well.

I think it's same with paying customers and non paying customers. You can have lot of non paying customers and not make money. And then you can have lot of paying customers but in low number. So that's one reason traffic has to be of some quality to make sense. You can see that some of the sites focus on targetting feature. And that is what has helped many sites to make some good money. So the targetting is what is required for the website to work properly there as well. That is what I have learned.

Traffic does not directly generate money for you. If you want to make money, your traffic needs to convert to leads (sign ups, subscriptions etc.), ad clicks or sales. You will earn money only when your traffic engazes on your site. Quality traffic means the traffic that has a great potential to convert. Quality traffic means visitors came to your site willingly (and not forced as in traffic exchange)

For me, it is the social media for getting traffic although I cannot say if it is high quality traffic. To define, high quality traffic are the legitimate visitors to your website, am I correct on this? Discounting the bots, there are the so called one-time visitors who are walk-ins, curious maybe. Some of them will come back for more but most of them will not. And for the legitimate visitors, more likely they will click on the related advertisements. Again, am I correct on this?

If you are getting clicks from your friends and family on your social media posts, the traffic might never convert. These people are clicking your links just because they want to help you, they may never click your ads or buy products from your pages. Having said that if you share valuable contents, you might get voluntarily clicks and these voluntarily clicks might convert well.
