If you would like to start a forum or already own a forum, then understanding the ways to boost activity is important. Here are some tips for improving activity on forums:

Buy Forum Posts: Buying forum posts is a good way to help boost your activity. Not only is it increasing your forum activity but this will induce domino effects. Firstly, when people see that the forum has active members posting interesting posts (they won’t know you purchased the posts), they will be more likely to register and participate in discussions. Secondly, quality content will be indexed on Google and have good rankings which will bring more traffic to your forum.
Competitions: Run competitions on your forum with good monetary incentives is a good way to get members to post. It doesn’t always have to be a cash prize; it can be something equivalent, for example forum software or free hosting if you run a webmaster forum.
Active Staff: Active staff members who create new interesting content regularly will encourage existing members to post and guests to join and participate.

One thing that can also help is to make sure that spam is cleaned up. When people see spam on forums, they often do not stick around. Having a moderator clean up the forum to remove such posts will surely boost some forum activity.

I also like the idea of having admin post from time to time. This says that they truly care about their forum, and want to be a part of the community.

Hi I agree with your all points and I have few more suggestions.

>Post continuously on your forum. If nobody post regularly, post thread by yourself
> Post new topic which interest people
> Send out mass mail and start to sending newsletter It is really great advances for forum owner.
> Make confirm your forum is accessible from each page of your site, individually the index page. Make the link highly visible about it on the home page.
> Use the forum to support of your main website
> You can recruit some moderator As your member population grows
> Hire a Professional poster. It can work for you
> And always try to detect spammer, it will bother real forum user

Forum activity is very important as it shows that the forum is alive with what members are sharing. Therefore it is something that needs to be improved and increased as much as possible. Besides the points you mentioned I would also suggest starting advertising campaigns that are targeted towards people who would be interested in your forum. If topics are somewhat restricted, try to diversify it a bit and start posts yourself regularly. Email follow ups to members could help a lot, especially if you instill some competition among them or let them know of something they might benefit from.

As a forum owner with probably having the position of admin, you should also be doing your part in posting new threads for the benefit of your forum. Especially high quality topics that will be interesting to the majority, that will spike the activity because as the admin, you have the command of influence among the community members. When you post something, there is the tendency for the members to read your post for it might be important to them.
