As a new seller, you got your back against the wall and we have all been there. Those times were, its like you know your right there and almost time for the puzzle to be solved but life makes you feel like you have lost a piece or two or three. Yea we all have been there and its no fun what so ever. One things for sure i have learned that you need a whole lot of patience in life and honestly with patience and dedication and self motivation anything really possible and every one who's successful And, I can tell you the same thing, hard work

Freelancing isn't an easy thing to start. I would suggest getting into content writing and building up your clientele list. As you're writing for clients I would suggest learning SEO and Online Marketing so that you can not only optimize the content for your clients but you can start setting up a website to pull in clients to do marketing for. Now you won't be able to do the SEO and Online Marketing for your clients right when you start writing for them, you'll need to learn the ropes first.

There are plenty of websites out there that you can start selling your writing services through. You can look up "freelancer marketplaces" in google as well as "article writers". If you can find where people are selling their writing services, you're on the right path. Now you'll need to build up your profile a bit in order to get more sales.

This is the part you may not like, because you won't really profit. You'll need to price your work extremely low in order to get the initial clients to hire you. I know I've hired plenty of writers who were just starting out because they offered a good example and they were half the price of the competition. I don't always re hire them because not all of them are that good, but you can find a diamond in the ruff here and there

After you build up your client list you can then let them know you offer website content writing and onpage/offpage optimization if they're interested. This is where you'll profit because the overhead is very low. You can even outsource 90% of the work if you want and keep 50% or more of the profit

Well, that's just an idea of how to get started in this niche

I would say, stop thinking about fancy cars and mansions. Get into the reality and set your goals SUPER LOW for starters. Take baby steps, and count on it, as that's what's most freelancers does. How about a goal of $1 earnings during 7 days. Reach that to begin with. When you've done that, reach the next goal. How about $3. Add new goals during the time you're working, along your way to success. You'll gain knowledge and experience. Work with what you have and not with what you want.

Becoming a freelancer is easy. To stay as one is the hard part.

yea you know i agree with your point of view you have to start small short term goals are where it is at . you know that way you don't overwhelm yourself with too much at one time as we all know running your own business can be stressful and time consuming and that can always put a lot of pressure and strain on some one , starting small helps too avoid that problem your right you have to set up small goal after small goal and before your know it everything starts too fall into place

Everybody started off as a beginner. Nobody was an expert from the very start. It takes time and a lot of effort and dedication to reach a certain level, but it is possible as long as you keep yourself motivated and keep working hard. I suggest you start off by setting small and realistic goals. Keep yourself up to date and learn from others, and as you go along you will be improving and getting more insight and experience. This will all prove to be invaluable and you will be getting better and better without even realizing it at times.

i believe self motivation is key to be honest cause times do get rough and things do get hard, and i know we all have a felt those times were it felt like are backs were against the wall. its that self motivation that has too keep you going and i agree you also have to make sure you are putting the right amount of dedication into your business and what you got going on so i honestly feel that you know what you are talking about, i appreciate you taking the time to give us your opinion thank you

The main issues for a freelancer who is starting are -
1. Tend to do lot of things in short period of time.
2. Do not promote their services.
3. Lose motivation quickly after not getting success as expected.
4. Set their expectation too high.

For me these are the issues that one needs to take care of in his/her early days of freelancer career.

Ha ha short sweet too the point, some pretty good points to as i might add. I have noticed myself that these reasons do play a big factor on the success and lively hood of first staring things off in freelance , expectations are always going to be high and i feel that is were the motivation plays a role you cant reach your goals with no motivation! impossible, also organization is key and those few who tend to not be as organized get stuck running around trying to get stuff done in short periods of time. as a result hurting themselves

I am not a seller here and I am not a freelancer. I do work for myself though, I am a blogger.

My thoughts here are that not everything goes exactly according to plan, the point is to stick to your goals and make things work. This takes hard work and dedication. There have been times when I have been very downhearted and I have been frustrated to tears. I have felt like a complete failure.

What have I done with these feelings?

Well I never gave up, I worked harder and focused on my end goals more. The tougher things got the more I put my head down and worked for what I wanted.

There were plenty of times it felt like I would never get anywhere.

What separates the people that succeed and those that fail? I believe it is just about keeping going. If you fail at something, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and try something else. If you give up you will never get anywhere. If you keep trying then at some stage something will take off.

Hi jkeyz2 thanks for your nice question. I do not know exactly how to I motivate them who are newbie on freelancing.
I have few suggestion for them.
Please..
Set your goal first, what do you want to do as freelancer? And where you want to see you after 5 and 6 years?
Start journey with proper training. I mean you have to learn al lot of for serving proper things.
I saw many newbie just come on online to do work without knowing basic knowledge of internet. You must to think, you are going to sell your experience to other, so evaluate yourself what do you know and how you serve them?
Skill up for proper communication.
Try to measure time frame and need to be punctual
Make yourself as honest
Confidence and target for achieving goal is big factors to survive as freelancer
Do not disappoint yourself as I cannot do it.
Keep try to do better than better

It's true, you face a lot of challenges as a beginner in this industry. However, it's the same as in every other domain you start. What seems to lack in all the new guys is patience. Everybody wants to get instant orders, fast money and not so much work to do. I know when i started freelancing, i was doing some posts for an girl, Jihva or something, she was paying me peanuts. But i stayed with her just because she was a steady income to me at that time. She knew that the payments are not that big but with her recommendation i managed to get more customers that i could get on my own.

It's not always about the fast money, it's better to get some good experience and also to develop a solid portfolio.

I agree that beginning is the hardest thing to do as a freelancer. If you ever get your first client breathe a big sigh of relief. This is the hardest thing you will ever do. However I agree that you need to price your services at a low rate until you get enough clients and experience to command the rates you want and deserve. I also think that you need to have excellent samples of your work to attract the right clients.
