How is it that everyone is so successful when I'm not?

I can totally relate to you. I've had similar thoughts and feelings too. Several times in my life actually. I won't go into any major details regarding those things as most of the things are in the past, and they should stay there.

However, I lost my father for instance, in late 2012. I was 27 years old. He died in front of me. Do you think I blame myself for this? Do you think I wish that this never had happened? Do you think I would rather have him alive and wished that another man would have died instead of him? -The answer for these three questions are very simple. I would say yes, no matter how many times you ask me this. But that's because I'm selfish. I wouldn't wish any other person that single moment when you take a look at your parent for 2 seconds and realize that he's dead.. And you did everything you could... For nothing.

Life isn't fair. Not for a single minute.. And I'll give you a perfect quote, from Rocky Balboa:

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. And it's true. What you need to do, is to keep fighting. You won't get a single thing for free. You'll need to spend time, put in effort and make things happen. That's the only way you can reach success.

Do you think I consider myself lucky or successful? -No I don't. Even though I'm a Level X5 seller here on SEOClerks, even though I have personal clients and even though I've been working full time online for the past 4-5 years now.. I don't. I'm not lucky. I don't consider myself successful either. I've earned the things I have today.. I am where I am today because of me and I will keep fighting to reach new goals.

I'm sorry for this "dark" story, the only intention I have by sharing this, is to make people aware of how success stories works. People have great success, some more than others, but it's not made by a single click or within a minute. Success stories often comes with big sacrifices, blood, sweat and tears too, even though people cuts that specific part out of their stories.

That was a very thoughtful and insightful post hitmeasap. I am truly sorry for your loss, and I feel that you are a strong person who despite all the pain and sorrow, is willing to move on. Losing people we love is something devastating, because they make up a significant part of our life, and the impact is going to be huge, as happened in your case. You manage to go far despite the obstacles and difficult things that come your way as long as you stay motivated and are willing to be strong. That is what success stories are all about.

And yeah, success stories aren't explained in those words usually..I just felt like bringing the REAL thing for once, so people might finally realize that they won't just wake up next to a sexy model with a Ferrari in the driveway without effort and sacrifices. Things takes time, motivation, work and effort.

I am so sorry to hear about your dad Hitmeasap. I am fortunate to have both my parents still and I dread the day that I don't have them around. I certainly wouldn't want to go through what you did.

I really love what you have said here. So many people make assumptions about the loves of others, especially when it comes to success.

I also don't consider myself successful yet and I have been working for myself for the last 8 years, doing various things.

Ok I do admit that I am more successful than a lot of other people. Like you I have worked hard and stayed focused on my goals. I think this is essential to success. I may not be quite where I want to be, and until I get there I will keep working towards my goals.

Thanks Lynne, I appreciate it. Yeah, it blows. That's also the main reason for my panic anxiety (which I've suffered from ever since) it was dramatic, out of the blue and... yeah. It sucks.

And when you finally reach your goals, you'll set new ones to reach.. Because that's what winners does!

Yes I think that is exactly what the difference is in mindset. I keep making new goals and I am always moving forward.

One day I will have loads of money and success. So far I have seen loads of small successes and I love it!

A lot of people who say they are successful and have made millions, haven't. The people who are really making the money online aren't talking about it. They aren't talking about it because they already have the recognition from their family and friends, and they don't need it from people they'll never meet.

I do ok for myself, but I wouldn't consider myself rich at all. I make enough to pay my bills and have some extra money in the bank after that. I can't go out and buy a million dollar house and a Bentley to park in the driveway because I don't make that much. I work 40 to 60 hours a week to keep food in my fridge and a roof over my families head. Some months are better than others but then you have the months where you're having the worst time of your life. I've had highs and lows in my online career, it happens, but you can overcome it.

You won't get rich overnight. Hell, I didn't turn a profit until after my 3rd year

You need to research a niche, typically something you're interested in, and begin to dominate it. You said your in carpentry, so start a carpentry blog and do research on how to properly set up your pages so they're optimized. After that you can do off page optimization campaigns and increase your rankings for tough keywords. Once you're on the top for certain keywords you'll notice the flow of clients coming in and filling up your time.

You're never down and out. Pick up your head and get to work. Failure is just a learning process.

Sipho - I understand your frustration, try and turn that into your drive for success! Don't be so focused on what your not doing or what everyone else is doing because like you said it is frustrating but everyone accomplishes their own success on their own time! Be patient, your success will come!!!!

First of all I would like to point out that even though money is very helpful in life, it is not everything. I feel that you are combining happiness and success with how much money one manages to make. In reality a successful person is one who feels fulfilled with his life in general, and life is not only made up of work and career, but more importantly of love, friendship and wellbeing. Do you feel content with regards to those three pillars in your life? Because if so you are a successful person my friend. That is how I see it.

Often at times you'll see your peers or friends being successful with whatever they do. Time has a place for everything. If you feel that you are not as successful as Bob, John, or Jill then that is totally fine. Bob, and John have probably been working for years to gain recognition for their efforts.

Jill on the other hand is quite the workaholic and looking for new ways to earn money but hasn't really made a dent in the online earnings world. So what does Jill do to rectify this? Jill would need to recognize what Jill has to offer. Know your skills, and monetize them. Always be sure to monetize a certain niche that you know a lot about.

Failure is the best part of the success. Everybody fails, and you shouldn't be discourage because you failed. You need to take the experience, move on, and then try again. Do things differently, don't follow the crowd. Work on your skills, and invest in yourself. You too will then have success.

John, Bob, and Jill can work together to combine their experiences and learn from one another. Always have a partner, and talk about what it is that is keeping you from succeeding. A support group, or friend can work wonders. Just keep trying, and one day before you even realize it, success will fall upon you.

Hi sipho thanks for sharing your thought. You are not only one who thinking such way, like except you remains all success. This feeling only come from your frustration. And I think still you may per away to achieving your life goal. Do not worry. For making success, this type of realization will help to do better. I like to say thank you, because at least you can realize yourself and want to know, how to become success. Many of people still cannot get such ability to thinking so.

For myself after having masters, I was seeking job here and there but I cannot manage job as my expectation. But, I had confidence and I always tried to do something different or unique. This thinking help me to become as a freelancer. Now I feel I am success. What reason working behind? 1. confidence 2. Thinking different and unique

Achieved both and set your goal for next few years. Good news for you, already you are stay on such great marketplace, where mass user selling skill and earning huge money. So, do not go away. Try your best what you can.

Life is always unfair in the eyes of some because they compare themselves with other people. We all have our failures and successes and you cannot be the best. I always remember that – I cannot be the best all the time. I think you need to be positive in your approach in life and stop thinking that you are a failure instead think that God had put you in the position for a reason.

I see what you are saying. I also feel what you are saying. Being on forums and blogs and many online platforms helps but sometimes it can discourage you. It feels like everyone is successful but you. People seem to be making money and sales, everyday but you seem to be stuck.The best advice I can give you is to keep at it, there is a time for everything and your time is coming.Keep on keeping on.
