If you haven't noticed, a lot of featured services appear in the trending tab, along with popular services by popular and established marketplace sellers.

I don't think that the bumps count directly towards trending, no.
Trending would be the most popular services so certainly the most sold services would make the trending list. So if you bump your services and make more sales that could in turn influence your chances of getting onto the trending list.

I hadn't noticed it either. I think that the services that managed to make it in the trending section are probably the ones that got most orders within that day, week or month.
