How do I set which image shows for Social Shares

Please can anyone assist with how I change which image shows up for social shares, specifically for Facebook?

I am using Hiero theme for my one website and for some reason it always uses the about me widget image for all shares to Facebook which is kinda creepy since it is of course a picture of me.

I have not been able to figure this out and it looks like I have like a serious ego issue o my Facebok page LOL

Please can anyone explain to me how I set this image to be my featured blog image instead?

If I remember correctly on Facebook, whenever you insert a URL it will automatically take few snapshots of your website along with some description and a live and clickable link. I know that you can change which snapshot to be posted. You didn't find anything viable there?

Another way to post it is to add the URL and cancel the automatic data and then upload a picture of your choosing. It won't look as pretty as the automatic one but at least is better than the ugly snapshot post.

Thanks RaduV - I don't share most of my content manually, I share it via Mass Planner so I can't change it.

I know how to add an image I want when I do it manually.

Damn there has to be a setting somewhere right?

Have you installed SEO Yoast yet? I know you had some conflicting problems it the past, I still believe that switching from all in all SEO to Yoast will save you from a lot of trouble in the future, you just need to find a good programmer able to fix it for you.

I also recommend what Mike already offered above: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ - it's basically a facebook crawler that will tell you if you have any problems related to sharing stuff on Facebook.

WordPress has OpenGraph plugin. If you set some default logo for your website. And if you take the featured image on display. Then that can surely help you with the displaying images on social share. You can also make use of the images of varying size for it to work. I have used opengraph plugin and it shows my posts properly on facebook, linkedin and twitter. So this does seem to work for me for now. I guess in future there will be more plugins.
