I am so chuffed, I have a blog that I have hardly posted any content on and I have literally not updated it since April this year because I have been too busy with other work.

This blog is where I share information about recovery from addiction, so it is very personal. My goal here has not really been to make money, but more to just share what I know and maybe someone else will be able to find recovery after hearing my story...

Anyway for a quiet blog that has not been updated in 6 months at all, well it looks like Google really loves it right?

I just had a look at my analytics today for this website for the first time in months so I am quite happy.

I was busy with finally adding a new post LOL

↵Way to go, Lynne! Seems like Google is treating you well, hopefully they will continue to do so!

My goal here has not really been to make money, but more to just share what I know and maybe someone else will be able to find recovery after hearing my story...

I wouldn't see it as a bad thing to monetize the website, as you do need funds to pay for the cost of running it, especially if the website is gaining momentum. The website needs to be able to pay for itself, ya know? If you don't already, you could apply Google adsense to the website to earn just about enough to cover any overhead costs. If you have some money left over, you could possibly hire someone to write blog posts for you, since you don't have enough time, and hopefully this will encourage Google even more to keep coming back to index and rank certain posts.

So I wouldn't necessarily see it as a bad thing to monetize the addiction blog, or even to profit from it. I also don't see it as being 'greedy', and 'making money off of addiction' as it were. If you can pay for it with no problem, than that is great as well.

Hey Everett well I have added Adsense to it and a few Amazon books that I love that helped me with my recovery. I have made a few sales with Amazon books and I make a little from Adsense so it does cover the cost of running the blog which is cool.

I totally agree with you, I see no harm in making money from this website at all.

I have content writers for my mommy blog and also for my online marketing blog but for this website it will always be my posts unless maybe another drug addict wants to write a guest post, I will be happy with that.

I Need the link again to your blog please post it on one of these topics. Im sure it will help with your traffic i also want to share it on my Facebook, Twitter and tag my wife aswell. Keep on going i think the traffic is great it keeps growing! Have you tried submitting your blog to websites that host and promote blogs? Have you tried to use Tumblr? I need to make a blog and start writing some good content maybe i can start with some of the topics i already have here on Seoclerks. Do you recommend using Google for blogs? What do you use? Thanks for sharing!

That's a really nice growing GA chart Lynne, be proud of it! Guess as the domain started to gain some age as well as authority Google began you give you better ranks. Not updated for six months? That's awesome, maybe you don;t really have to stay very active on this, but I think at least 1-2 posts per months should give you some good results.

Just keep a consistency in posting and try finding new keyword and micro niches to write about, make the posts big and I assure you they will get good ranks in time.

I am now setting my posting schedule to be Twice a week for my online marketing blog, once a week for my addiction blog and three times a week for my mommy blog. That is one post a day with one day free in a week

I am busy with all my planning now. It has been quite a mind shift this year closing my online store in February to just blog. It took me a while to find my mojo if that makes sense? Well I think I just recently found it.

The only sad thing is that I have not been able to find much time to be here lately. It is a juggle act of note.

Who said that having a website is not worth it? The thing with the website / blog / online activity platform is that it requires a lot of attention and it is very time consuming. You need time to tweak it, time to personalize it, time to write the articles, time to post them and make them SEO friendly but also User or Reader Friendly. And it's a permanent activity, you can't post the article and leave it be. In order to not be forgotten by Google you should engage with the community, post more often and play with social media more.

Overall, it looks like you had a really good day. Any particular reasons?
