If you had a list of 50 subscribers or a list of 5000 subscribers. Would you do anything different?

Hey guys..

"The money is in the list!" - We've all heard it by now.. Right?
-Sure we have! It's a very common answer for anyone who's asking questions regarding money online.

I'm actually kind of sick of answers like that.. But that's also one of the reasons for this question.

What I would like to know is, would you do anything different if you had:

A list of 50 people.
A list of 5000 people.

Would you still do the same thing or would you do something different due to the amount of people? - All of them are obviously niche targeted and all that.

But the size of the list.. Does it matter or decide if you do this or that?

I guess that emailing your subscribes require same action even if you have 1 single subscriber or 5000+. With each emailing you treat each single person and they don't know how many you have on the list, nor it makes any difference because you selling to each person. So probably you would be more motivated when you have more people on the list, but efforts should be same. Or let's say, when you have less people on th list, you should invest more time to make your list bigger

For me as a blogger I have my blog broadcast set up so every time I publish a new blog post my subscribers get notified. I really don't think I would do anything differently if I had a huge amount of subscribers. I am happy with the way that my email marketing is set up.

I am not really worried if anyone unsubscribes since anyone that unsubscribes obviously doesn't want to read my content anyway. And if that is the case I don't want to have to pay for that subscriber so I will be pleased to have them off my list LOL.

If I had just 50 subscribers I would probably be focusing my efforts on getting additional ones, rather than on badgering the 50 I have only. It is not that I would not appreciate the 50 who subscribed, but I would not be devoting too much time on sending too many regular emails to such a small list. If there were more subscribers, then the frequency of the emails would probably be bigger as there is an added motivation to keep as many of them interested as possible.

Of course, the size matters. Although having only 50 subscribers is far more easy than having 5000. If I had liked 50 of them I would make the best out if it by sending them customized emails, this can greatly increase my conversion rates.

On the other hand, I would deal in a different way if I had 5k list, I would send the same email template to everyone but I would invest a lot more time in the content of the emails templates.

For a fewer prospect, the marketing in my mind is a personal one. That 50 is not too many for me to write a personalized blurb for each. My idea is like sending a personalized letter that has no duplicate. And before writing the communication, be it an email or a message in social media, maybe I need to gather some information about the subscriber so I can write something different from my other subscribers. With 5,000 subscribers, that personalized marketing style will not be possible so maybe the email will be a generic one.

No I would not do anything differently. For both 50 or 5000 I think that for your message to click and for your call of action to be effective, your email message needs to sound personal. Your email message can't sound like a marketing gimmick, it has to sound like you are talking to the personal individually. That's why they are programmes and software which allow you to feed individual names into the emails. If you had a generic email that sounds like it is written to the world, I think this type of marketing would be less effective.
