I like using VR Headset. But I worry if by chance the smartphone blasts or get caught with fire. Then there is a huge chance of losing eyes from blast. If it burns your hand then you can manage it somehow by throwing away. But attaching it to near eyes seems bad as you can't remove it instantly. By the time you will remove it would have made huge damage to precious eyes.
For this reason, I didn't buy a VR headset even if I had made my mind to buy one before.

That is true that in the case of blast the viewer can lose his vision or the eyes but if we think like this about everything then we cannot go on with technology. We have risks while driving a car or traveling by a plan but we do use to do that. In the same way, you will risk in everything that you do.

So it is better to enjoy the inventions and stay a little bit careful. Don't use the VR for a long time and give your phone a little bit rest while using it for a long time. There are rare cases of phone blast and that could be due to make some kind of alteration.

I do not use headset. Now a days people has been going offline about to use headset. Any time headset can be blasts and can get damage of ear and eyes.

To begin, I love where technology has evolved to. The idea of turning my smartphone into a virtual reality headset seems really appealing.

However, I've never been a person to try the latest technology that comes out. Usually, it goes through a period of bugs and glitches. I let others experience these bugs/glitches so they can be rectified before I get to it. I apply this same math to the VR.

Personally, I am nervous about the smartphone catching firing or blast. But I'm more so nervous about the long term effects of keeping a digital screen so close to my eyes. My worst fear is developing nearsightedness or blurry vision from consistently using VR's. It is because of these factors I don't use a VR headset. I want to give it a few more years in production before I buy one for everyday use.

I never used a VR headset before but I would love to if given a chance. I am so fascinated by the whole virtual reality developments.

I saw an article about the Google CardBoard VR headset and was really intrigued. The basic ones seem really affordable too. Regarding its risk. Everything in life involves certain risks. Going across the road is risking your life if a car hits you and so on. I try not to focus on them and enjoy the things that life offers. If these VR headsets were truly THAT dangerous they wouldn't be sold so massively.

I'd definitely buy the VR headset and as you can see some things from the VR are cheap. You can buy google's VR headset or Mi headset for cheaper price. But rest of the others are kind of expensive. I won't say those headsets are any good there as well. It's just that we buy them for those limited VR games.

I was going to ordering VR headset with the promotion offer that T-mobile had when ordering a Samsung S8. However, I missed the promotion offer to get it for free. I would not pay for the VR because I will not use it all the time, but I would love to try it out for a first time to gain experience with it. I heard from other people's experience that it has a realistic feel of the location that the VR displays.

I fully support this! The VR Headset it's dangerous, there is no guarantee that it's 100% safe and we can lose our eyes, sure, it's funny and all, but guys, come on, our eyes.

I would love to try out the VR headset I saw a youtube video the other day a group of teens playing paranormal activity VR game looked so fun and creepy at the same time. I found the video to share with you all looks cool.

I think that the VR Headsets are a prototype and they have a lot to make better. But I think that it is a great idea but I don't think that we should be worried if the headset explode in our eyes lol.

I would definitely use one as long as it's built with quality. I mean, who doesn't like to see the next big thing in gaming right? Although I've seen cheap ones that I don't feel quite secure with, these are my only two eyes were talking about here lmao, but perhaps if it was made by companies like Sony, I wouldn't mind.

I feel like VR headsets really need to add in a film on the screen to protect your eyes. It really can't be good to have your eyes exposed to a screen up close for extended amounts of time.

I'm sure the technology will evolve to include safety features. Beyond gaming, I'm actually looking at it as a searching, shopping, and marketing tool, especially when combined with voice commands.

I would be willing to use a VR headset maybe years down the line after they are safer and more tested and developed. As for now, I do not think they are worth the calculated risks.

You know I've actually never thought of that risk when using the VR headsets that involve phones. But then again, I also don't feel that phone VR headsets are "true" virtual reality sets and I wouldn't use them to begin with. In my opinion, true virtual reality is provided by companies like Oculus Rift and HTC's Vive. I feel like using your phone for VR is just a gimmick, no better than Google Cardboard. That being said, if I could get my hands on a legitimate VR set, then I would definitely use it. However, I still kind of worry about the health of my eyes when using it considering how close the screens are. I wonder how good that is for one's vision in the long run.

Considering that we hold our phones close to our ears and don't worry about the phones exploding on our ears, I don't think that the VR devices are that much more of a security risk. They seem quite entertaining. Perhaps steering in the VR for a lenghty time will effectively strain the eyes but this is more likely than an exploding cell phone. I've never really tried a VR except for the old timers with the circular tape and the flip side knob! Those were cool back then so I would definitely look forward to trying out these new VR models.

This is very interesting to think that a VR headset can cause injury to the eyes. Maybe this should be discussed with the department of health because once your eyes get burned then there is no more cure. I had tested a demo of a Virtual Reality game in Singapore and the VR headset gave me a good experience like I was inside the scene that I was seeing. But if there is the risk of getting too much glare then I may avoid it now.
