Instagram is constantly evolving and the same thing applies for its feed, which apparently isn't chronological as it used to be.
Some posts are very recent while other are posted a few days ago, all this because Instagram is testing and improving its algorithm because most users were missing most of their Instagram feed, the new algorithm implemented in 2016 was designed to show users exactly what they are interested in while hiding certain details they might not be interested in.

How to get a lot of comments on Instagram?

So you'll now be thinking what the Instagram's feed has to do with getting more comments on Instagram? Well, let me walk with through it.

Users interactions with your post matter! First of all, if you want to get more comments you need to make sure users are able to see your posts! This means you need to beat Instagram algorithm, how does Instagram rank content in its feed?

By the number of comments but also the number of likes a post gets.
By how much interaction that certain user had with your content in the past (this is why it is important to do everything by the book right from the start)
By how recent your post is.

So, how users interact with the content you are publishing on Instagram matters, and the numerous the interaction the bigger your audience will get therefore you'll get even more engagement.
So here are a few things to consider if you want to increase the number of comments on your Instagram account:

1. Make sure you have a public profile. If people can't follow you right away, they won't going to ask for approval. Make everything visible so they can see your past content and interact with it right from the start.

2. Have Instagram push notification setting enabled for an instant notification when you get new comments? Once you get comments try replying to them as fast as possible, this will only spark a conversation and in result will make your post look more popular, therefore will appear in more of people's feeds.

3. Be interesting, funny and generally post quality content. I'm sure you heard this all before but you won't going to make it with crappy content, that's a fact.

4. Timing is important. Figure out what part of the day is the best for you to post and also figure out how many posts you should create per day. Search for a tool that can help you with all of this, a social media content calendar.

5. Create giveaways and host events. People love free stuff and direct interaction.

6. Ask people to comment. Don't beg, but this is so simple: if you want more comments, just ask!

7. Video. Video. Videos. It's all about video content now! Make sure you post it!

8. Hashtags but use them the right way. By being relevant.

9. Pictures of animals and other cute things will always gain a lot of comments.

Be more interactive with your followers. Ask them questions in your captions such as " how was your day" and etc. People will be more inclined to comment if you ask a question

Very interesting ideas presented by you! I mention that this can apply to individuals, while for companies there is a simpler and faster method, namely advertisements! Yes, it involves some costs, but it's created specifically for companies and it's a low price for what it can offer.

This article is great for anyone who is out there trying to build a instagram account. I myself don't have that much experience in attempting to build a instagram account from the ground up, but I do know that hashtags are key in bringing in traffic. Relevant hashtags to whatever you are posting about can be really useful, I see account with well over 10k followers still using plenty of hashtags in their posts so you it has to have some benefit if that is the case.

you can do so many different things for example you can use nice photos or you can make challenge, for example put a photo of your self in two kind of bikini and ask them which one is more suit on me, then just watch the volley of the comments and it doesn't have to be sexy all the time it can be a controversial picture, as long as you get your likes and comments it doesn't matter...

Thanks for the tips on Instagram, I'm new to Instagram, but I'm not new to social media, and can see the connection between Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, Instagram kind of reminds me of both twitter and Facebook, and know they added Instagram live, which is another cool feature, I have also been getting more comments on Instagram by linking my content to my Facebook and twitter accounts, overall I think Instagram is a great tool to drive traffic to your web-site.

Posting something controversial always helps. I know some people who post something controversial or too funny. And that is known to get them some comments. And lot of reshare happens this way. You can see that some stuff which is taboo to share is often used to get a lot of traffic. I think many people are not sure about the type of the content they can use so they try plenty of tricks to get such traffic.

Some people may object and say "But I'm using my Instagram for business purposes."

That may be true but ... people like cute pictures!

If that's what it takes to get their attention then I guess that's what I have to do. Although ... I find cute free images sites on Pixabay or Glitter Graphics. I don't have any pets and I'm not really an animal person. But people like flowers and stuff like that too!

Maybe being funny is much better than being interesting because when you are funny then you are already interesting in a sense. I had created an Instagram account just to test how it works and I guess I am not fit for being an Instagram influencer because I am not funny enough. Also, you need to be created in order to project an interesting image otherwise your Instagram account will just be another face.
