I have a couple of websites which I have maintained for quite a while now. And one problem that I have encountered is that I could not update the sites regularly because I find it hard to write articles. I need to do research, edit for SEO, then promote them on social media... It's very time consuming. I also have a day job which makes writing articles even harder. I usually have time at night only. Do you write all content yourself?

I would like to get the services of a content writer but I don't have the money for it. Do you write your own content for your website or do you hire a freelance writer to generate content for you?

If you write your own content, what's your technique in order for you to regularly post to your sites? If you avail of the services of a content writer, how much do you pay them?

That fact you have a day job makes everything complicated. Even as an experienced writer,you can't cope managing a couple of websites with a day job.
There are writers who offer to write for as low as $5,while some charge per word. I advice you ask for samples first and talk about hiring the writer for a month or more to save cost.
I can pay 300 dollars for a month,but it must be a very talented/experienced writer.

Wow, you have such a big budget allotted for paying your content writers. How many articles in a month do you get from the $300 that you spend? And do you hire writers that you know of in real life or do you hire writers over the internet?

You're right, it's a bit hard for me to find time to write after work because I'm usually exhausted when I get home. Do you write all content yourself?

I have commissioned writer to write contents for my website. Even though I am a writer myself and I have been writing for more than 10 years, I had to hire a writer because I had never written anything in that genre. I have also hired writers to rewrite contents. I had to hire because I did not have time to rewrite. In most cases I write my own contents.

I have never hired a writer because I am one. I have written many articles already for all sorts of clients and niches. I find it fun because even if I have no previous knowledge, I can look it all up, do research and learn something myself.

I have never tried to juggle multiple sites at the same time so I can only imagine how hard it must be. If you have some spare budget I would probably recommend that you just try hiring somebody and see how it goes. Just don't forget to ask them for sample work before engaging in the service ;D

I have to admit that I am not a writer and as I had posted in other threads, I joined writing sites and forums to enhance my written English. Anyway, I have this plan of a blog that until now is still in the air. The main reason is the contents. Can I write those articles from time to time? It happened to a friend that he was regularly updating his blog and was doing good with the hits until his work schedule had eaten up most of his time. His blog hibernated and now it's been inert for a couple of years. So maybe I should have a partner in my planned blog so that the updates would be on a regular basis.

I do write my own content, but if I was really making money, I wouldn't be adverse to hiring a writer. I think I would be more inclined to hire a web designer, but actually my son is a professional IT guy so that would probably not be necessary for me to do.

Interesting! I hope to reach that level someday. I particularly enjoy doing my own articles, but it consumes a lot of my daily time, mainly because I have other activities. Thank God my wife helps me!

I used to write the content pretty much all by myself but now that I can afford to hire writers and focus 100% on the development of my website I'm totally shifting a big part of content creation to them.

When the contents that need to be written are not in my familiar fields, I will not shy away from asking for help from the ones who are experienced in those fields, it’s the whole point of the Internet, it is supposed to bring people closer, bring solutions to questions faster, if you encounter a block, don’t try to brute force it, seek out the ones who have experiences, listen to their advice, then try it yourself, but if you are simply too busy, don’t be shy and just ask them to write for you with a reasonable price, but you should proofread their products yourselves to get what they are saying, understand their point of view and learn from it.

I guess if you have several sites it's going to be complicated to keep up with all of them. You need to focus on one and do your writing there. Especially if you don't have the budget to pay someone else to do it for you and if you have another job to attend to. Also you need to organize your time because if you don't you'll end up overwhelm with a bunch of work to do and no time to do it. Make an agenda and stick to it!

For now, I write my content for my blogs.Maybe in the nearest future, I would start outsourcing.

To always have continuous content write on topics you're good with.In fact open a blog on a niche you know too well,so that you'll always have what to write.No need breaking your head with unfamiiar terrain.

I write my blog posts myself. I post on multiple blogs. Also I write on the site which are accepting the content but which offers some sort of revenue share. Or I am also writing the content which can accept the content on the per money basis. As you can see that does help out in many ways. So I think writing the content yourself for many reasons can be a good option. But if you have the money then better outsource the content writing projects.

Well, I'm new to owning a personal blog myself. So yes, as of right now, I solely write all of the content displayed on the website. If the blog grows and revenue increases, then I will seek other writers to join and either split in rev share or pay them per article published. The goal for me is to be the main contributor on whatever blog or forum I own for the most part. I enjoy the content I produce for others. Realizing it was of quality sparked me to start my own blog, to begin with. It simply meant more money in my pocket by owning the content I published. It takes diligence to run a blog and write content all by yourself but can pay off in the long run especially if you're creative.

I actually do write my contents all by myself. I don't write them quickly though. I tend to search the web and try to compile everything on a draft page and get all the important and necessary ones. Then I would eventually add my own ideas here and there without compromising the quality of the article or content. But mostly, majority of my articles are my personal preference.

I am a freelance writer and in addition to serving my clients, I also produce the content itself for my websites.

Currently I have 3 niche blogs and I'm working hard together with my wife to get a financial return.

I wish I could afford a freelance copywriter, but at the moment I do not have that financial condition. Maybe in the future.

Content writing is really not that easy. And one has to get consistent projects. Otherwise sustaining is not that easy. I have found out that some of the time you have to find odd projects even if they pay low. This way one can make some decent earning. That way things can be improved a lot from what I have seen so far.

I write some of my content myself and do take help of other to complete my contents, blogs, websites. I write all my blog posts myself. It requires personal touch in those post. Every post is valuable to me. I chose to answer as soon as I get it on my blog. It makes my users timely response and I get further queries because of this. We have to listen to our readers what they want out of us. You should not start writing randomly and hope to get traffic that world are waiting for your any content you write.

I do actually write all of the content myself for my blog, and i also host a writer's blog where I am the editor for the work of others. Writers submit their pieces to the literary site, and then I showcase and promote them. This is the site where I use AdSense, so, other than the works of the writers, comments, and my occasional additions, this site is pretty much entirely composed of the writings of others.

I write the content for my own blog because that's precisely the point while I'm blogging. I don't think that anyone can capture the essence of my blog posts because they're mostly based on my research and personal experiences. It will be a bit off for me if I hire someone else to write for my blog while I'm earning some money by providing content to clients' blogs. If the blog grows any bigger, I might think about expanding and inserting guest blogs.

I would suggest you hire someone to write content. It does not have to be a full-time position, mutually agree on how many posts per month and subject thereof. By doing this you would be able to keep blog active and when you have the time to write, would be an additional post as standard ones are being done. A friend of mine will devote an entire Saturday to her writing, then have a pool of posts for the quite times. She also encouraged friends/family to provide a post - which was presented as a different viewpoint.

I write all content by myself. For writing own self- the best technique I follow that is keywords. keywords based personal writing bring traffic for the life time. Keyword is the heart of article.

Basically I love to rewrite article on a quick response based.

I usually write all my content by myself. I also try to find some time to do this. There was a point when I decided to hire someone but my friend had a bad experience with a content writer and that's the reason why I prefer to write my own content. I usually wake up early in the morning and I try to find some time to decide about the topic and I start writing if possible. I work as a freelancer and I always manage to find some time during the day to write my articles.

I write all of my own content, because like you I don't have the funds to hire a content writers. Not only that but your website is a lot more personal if you do all of the writing yourself. And not to worry OP, the more you write the easier it gets and in time writing articles will be second nature and you will be able to crank out articles without even thinking.

With my previous blogs, I preferred to write my own content as I could make sure that everything was perfect. The problem is that a lot of people just don't have the time to write all the content themselves. The best workaround for this is to allow guest posting where you can approve posts and guests can get links posted somewhere below the article. That way it is great for you as you are getting content on your blog and they are getting something back as well.

It is really a good thing to write your own content because it won't cost you any amount. But as a content writer, there are really times that we encounter difficulties in writing. Sometimes we lack of ideas to write because we have the thinking that almost all topics have been written already. That's why we need to devote ourselves to read other peoples works and learn from them. In writing a content, it may not necessary that we are the original author of what we are going to write. We can borrow the ideas of other people. We have different styles or tone in writing. The other people presents their ideas could be different from ours. Sometimes we could present ideas much better than the original author. Let's not just forget to give credits to the original author.

Normally I don't really like delegating my content writing, but sometimes I have no choice. However, when I outsource it I still make sure I retain some kind of control. I make sure to proofread and edit it. My advice to you would be even if you outsource this task, you still need to learn how to do it yourself, because you need to know what to look for in a freelancer. Anything today is possible, you can learn anything you need to learn. While you're still learning you can delegate some part of the task e.g the writing, researching or the editing.This would make your work easier.

When I was invited by a blogger to help in his blogging his reason was for his lack of time to do the writing by himself. But instead of hiring a writer to create new content for his blogs, he opted for a co-blogger which is more practical since he will not pay although there was the promise to share the revenue of the blog. I think his style was good because he did not spend anything for my labor but I was glad that he gave me the promised share in the revenue later.
