Dropping out of college because you're making money is dumb.

    I was recently on Facebook and I joined this affiliate marketing masterminds group because I had intended on spamming them my affiliate program lol.  I soon got caught up in a discussion from a post about how this guy wants to drop out of college after he's making $10,000 a month working online as an affiliate.  I was reading through the dozens of comments from people and most of them had the same opinion, which was to drop out after you're making $10,000 a month.

    What I don't think these people are doing is making $10,000 a month because if they were, they wouldn't be working at BestBuy or a restaurant as their profiles say lol.  Just so you guys and girls get a better understanding of what I'm going to be talking about, I'll post what the initial question was....


    WHAT ARE YOUR GUYS THOUGHTS!

    1) Finish College
    2) Dropout of College right now
    3) Wait til your making $10k+ / month to dropout

    Now my first thought was "This guy needs to stay in school and take another English class because he doesn't know how to use the word "your" in the right way and he also said "Drop you thoughts" instead of adding an R to the word your" but that's just what I saw first lol.

    Anyway, most of the comments obviously said to go with #3 because who wants to stay in school after making 120k a year?  Not many of us would, that's for sure lol.  I commented saying that you should work to get your degree as well as build up your online business.  Do this because if everything does crash and burn, at least you'll have a degree to fall back on if you can't get something started back up for yourself.  I'm going to assume that most of the people who were commenting didn't really know how to make 10k a month or even 1k a month with affiliate marketing.  If they did, they would know that pushing your 10k into other areas of making money online would be much better than affiliate marketing, but none of them recommended that hmmmm

    The one downside of social media posts like this is that they bring in all the "professionals" who don't really know what they're doing.  So to help out I posted that he should stay in school and bust his butt at building up his own company as well as getting a degree full time.  Obviously you don't need a degree if you're going to strike it rich online, but that doesn't happen to a lot of people and this is why I suggested he stay in school.  After he was successful I recommended him to go part time at school and full time online so that he can make even more money while getting his degree.

    To my amazement, not many people argued with me lol.  I thought for sure that some people would jump on my post and tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about, even though I've been working online for over 15 years and know very well what I'm doing Dropping out of college because you  Actually, now that I think about it, no one commented on my post but there are a bunch of comments on the other posts haha!  I think I might have posted too good of a comment and didn't leave any holes for people to pry on, so they avoided commenting all together Dropping out of college because you



    In Conclusion:
    If you're in school and you're thinking about dropping out because you can make a bunch of money online, just stay in school.  It's dumb to drop out because other people have made a significant income online and made it look easy.  Don't believe any of the hype when someone says they are making 10k a month online and they'll teach you how for a one time low fee of $497 Dropping out of college because you  Stay in school full time until you are making a bunch of money, then go part time and make more money while also getting a degree.  Sure it will take longer to get your degree, but you'll have more money in your account, so don't worry about it lol Dropping out of college because you

    $10,000 a month is a lot but it's still not enough for a secure future. By dropping out of college you are limiting your options in the future. Just because this guy is making $10,000+ a month right now does not mean he will do the same next month. For all he knows, his system could fail or he will stop making money in the next few months. What would he do then? The best thing is to continue college so that you have a backup plan just in case.

    That's a good point. I hadn't thought of that. I suppose he/she would have to weigh in on how sure their method of making money is. However, the person might not know how to do that.

    I also hope if his story is true that he's investing some of his money in stocks, while banking some of it and letting it accrue interest. I sincerely hope he isn't blowing it all on decadent vice, useless crap or mindless pursuits.

    As a young person, I don't think investing in stocks would be that great because of how risky it can be. There is a chance that he could lose all his money if he is not careful. Of course, he could always get a professional or someone who is doing well with stocks to do it.

    This is true, however if you have created somewhat stable flow of income during college and have kept re-investing some of it the smart way, no amount of college will help you in the future because you're already on the road to self-employment.

    Personally I haven't gotten a college-level education, simply because I couldn't afford that as I needed to work to support myself, and I would do the same again even if college was to be give freely to me. Education is important, but what comes to college, university and anything after is nothing of value in the real life outside of few offices where they want papers instead of actual skill.

    That is such a big amount that I think it is worth to stop schooling for a year. You can pay your educational loan with that kind of earning and if it persists for a year then you probably can quit and drop out of college. Just be sure to save a big amount of that earnings for your future that in case your earnings would stop then you can go back to school and have money for your expenses.

    It's sad that there are many misleading facts about life and how it should be lived on social media. Another issue with social media is that many people measure the kind of life they live by what others are saying on social media which is wrong.

    To the question asked by that guy about making money on the internet or staying in school can make meaning to someone that hasn't stepped a foot in the university. I mean having gone to school, there are many things that have really changed in me of which having a renewed mindset is included. It will be nice for the guy to stay put in school and create to make money online as well. School is about getting exposed to ways of life and not really about making 5 figures on a monthly basis.

    For me, I believe he can run the two concurrently.No need leaving one for the another if he is really serious.I'm sure it not every minutes that he's working online and as such time can be scheduled conveniently to run the two things that matter most in his life.

    I never advocate anyone dropping out of school in any level to pursue money.Personally, I believe money chasing is a lifelong thing.As long as one is breathing then one has a whole long time before him or her to make money.The problem humans have is the get rich quick syndrome where everyone wants to be in money as early and as quick as possible which is wrong.

    I tend to agree with your opinion here. You should always have an educated skill, of some sort, whether it is technical or academic, as something to fall back on in case your online career, or anything other venture you are working on, falls apart. I recently, a few year ago, lost a corporate job. Luckily, I was teaching on the side, and because of my college education, I was able to up my teaching frequency and make ends meet while other job opportunities came my way. You never know what can happen, so, if you can afford it and have the means, you should definitely get as much of an education as possible in order to always have a safety net when things get tough. That being said, sometimes, when hings get tough, the college degree may not help you either, but I would say it is better to have one than not.

    I share the same opinion as you. Your degree course can actually help you in developing some skills which you can use as a freelancer. Moreover, he can study and work online at the same time. He just needs to manage his time. Moreover, if he faces some difficulties to earn online later on at least his degree can help him to get an offline job. He needs to think about his future too.

    You're right on this. For me, I just think the guy is hell bent on making money at the moment and not reflecting on what the future really holds for him. There are days when the money will be no more and it is what he learnt from school will assist him in getting better.

    The better course of action, would be to earn $10,000 a month while continuing to attend school. Then once he's graduated, use what you've learned to earn $20,000 or more - a month.

    It is not going to hurt to stay in school but Bill Gates is a college drop out, and I don't know if Zuckerberg finished either. I think college is a bit over rated in our society but education never hurts you and frequently helps you. I say stay in school if you can.

    Education is important. Higher education will only ensure that you get a proper job or earn better. You might be earning 10k per month, however, this may not last always. If you have proper education and training, you will be equpiied with knowledge and skills that will help you earn better. When we graduated, some of my friends joined a company and some continued to pursue education. The ones who joined job market after graduation are stuck with the same job, whereas those who pursued education have a better paying job. Even if you choose to become a freelancer, you need proper eduation to convince your clients.

    I think the problem with people and the internet is they want to live the dream. And I have seen so many people lie about how much they make in order to try and sell a ebook. And you have to ask yourself if someone is really making $120k a year, why on earth would he sell you his idea for $49.99 to put himself right out of business. When in fact he is probably making $10k a month selling dreamers his ebook for $49.99 which is full of worthless information that you can find online.

    In my second year of college, I started earning more than my father at the time from online jobs and freelancing. The idea of dropping out because of this didn't even enter my mind.
    I finished college when I was supposed too and even got a few years of experience working in the industry I was supposed to work. Of course, I came back to the digital work and got a job as an SEO expert, something totally unrelated with what I studied in college but nevertheless, I feel like I have a safety net in terms of possible jobs I can get.

    This comment may sound radical but don't get mistaken. I am a college graduate and I go for a degree. However, in earning $10K a month, that amount of money will make you wealthy in a year or 2. My take on the issue is to forgo with college studies for the moment and continue earning. Let the money pile up until the well dries up then that's the time to continue your studies.

    Most of those who would drop out of college to seek out a fortune would use Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg as their benchmark. And unfortunately, most of these individuals fail miserably because of all the false hopes and promises that were given to them. Bill and Mark are one of a kind. Of course, all of us are also unique in one way or another. But the point is, you don't need to quit college in order to make money. I know of rich people who have their own business still striving to finish their studies and get a degree. I don't know why some people see college as a hindrance, when in fact, it's a stepping stone to greater things.

    I also believe one should finish school even after making that much. Actually, they should even use the money to enroll in other different schools so they can gain more knowledge, make new friends, settle in life and be their own CEO. Money will come and go and how you use it will determine how much you can keep.

    I believe we should all continue to learn, but not necessarily through school. School doesn't guarantee you a job. This is witnessed by the millions of youth that have graduated and yet are still jobless. In this case, I believe he should finish school no matter how much he is making. Not because it will get him a job, but because I believe school teaches you how to think. With this knowledge, he can continue to expand himself, in terms of personal growth and also expand his business.

    I believe that people can earn lots of money even without finishing a degree. But I don’t encourage anyone to dropout from school. Instead I encourage everyone that can afford to go to school to finish a degree and use their acquired knowledge and skills to build their own business if they really want to earn big money and have time and financial freedom. They can even start a business while they are still studying so that when they graduate they will no longer be looking for a job.

    His idea of dropping out of college - isn't so dumb - when you consider he's making 10,000 a month. I mean, that's a doctor or lawyer's salary. However, though, someone only making a grand a month should stay in school no matter what, cause while 1000 a month is progress, it's not 10,000, lol.

    Always finish your education. It's not just about getting job.Even if you have the money complete the education. That seems to be the way to deal with the online earning or offline earning. Not completing the college is the way to make things a bit harder as well. I have learned that some of the time dropping out of the education can be good if the money earned is lot better. But one has to manage the earning properly there.

    Well i think you've made a clear stand on the issue by saying a lot. Now that's the actual reason why you didn't get any response to your comment. They probably think you're being to smart with a lot of funny gestures in your remarks, pardon me for saying.

    Am going to agree with you on the fact that no amount of money can substitute the achievement of having a degree. Though a bunch of the richest people in the world became successful without owning a degree, money isn't the best motivation for getting a degree. It's a matter of being in an inclined position. I bet most people on that group do not think in this way.
