Posting Quality Content
When you want to increase your authority, you will always need to post high-quality content. This is a basic thing you need to do regardless if you're trying to get noticed because it's just good practice. You're going to post content that your visitors want to read, and if they begin to engage with your content, the search engines will likely notice and eventually see you as more of an authority than you already are When you begin to write up your content, you will need to make sure it's at least 1,500 words. I say this because there have been plenty of studies on how long the top articles were at the top of the search results, and anything under 1,500 words usually didn't have a chance with longer posts. Yes, it does take time to write up a well versed and grammatically correct article this long, but it's worth it if you're trying to be seen as an authority. Just take your time and structure everything out before you begin typing, this will help you get through your thoughts and nothing will be jumbled up and your content won't seem like it's all over the place. You need to keep a flow with your content, you can't jump from point A, to point X, to point Q, then back to point C because it will not be an easy read. If you aren't sure if you're article is good, just have some peers or random people read it and evaluate it on a scale from 1 to 10. The closer to 10 the better and if you get a 1 then you should think about outsourcing the content generation lol Instagram Fame
Plenty of people have gotten "Instagram Famous" because of all their followers. Usually, these people are models, but it can be done in any niche if done right. You don't need millions of followers to be the authority within your niche, on Instagram, because you might not have that many people interested in what you're pushing. Let's say you're a model and trying to become famous, you'll likely need 1,000,000+ followers before you can consider yourself successful on Instagram since there are plenty of models that have 5mil+ followers. But what if you're in the basket weaving niche? Do you still need a million followers in order to be seen as the authority in your industry on Instagram? NOPE! Each niche has different competition levels, and if your top competition has only 1,000 followers then you only need 1,001 To become Instagram famous within your niche requires you to post high-quality images, not blurred ones, in order to get people coming back. You will also need to add some quality descriptions and ask questions or ask people to tag their friends in the comments. You can then move on to writing up 20-30 tags with each image which will increase the likelihood of getting found in the search results. This will increase the engagement and followers, which is what you want

Getting Interviews
When you want to become an authority within your niche, you will likely need to be interviewed at some point or another. The bigger the website that is interviewing you, the better, because it will only get you noticed even more. Now, I'm not telling you to avoid the little people trying to interview you, because you never know who will be the next big blogger or news writer. These small guys will remember when you gave them the time of day, and they will likely show you some love later on when they become big authorities within their own industries Partnering With Other Authorities
Partnering With Other Authorities
Partnering is a great way to help boost your authority in the eyes of your viewers. This is because they will see you partnering with a company they already trust, and that means they will begin to trust you. Trust goes both ways, so if they partnering site trusts you, their followers will trust you as well and vice versa You simply have to add a "Partners" page to your website in order to show who you're partnered with. You won't want to just partner with anyone, be strategic when doing this because the other company can make your business name seem better or it can tarnish it as soon as you post them in the partner's page.In Conclusion

Building up your authority isn't an easy thing to do because it takes a long time. If you follow the things I mentioned above, you can gain authority in the eyes of your viewers much quicker than if you just took a shot in the dark I do a lot of the above tips and can increase the authority of my own websites, as well as my clients, in a few months (which isn't that long). You just need to stay diligent and keep writing, posting and talking to other people

Trying to pass yourself off as an expert, when you are not, can quickly turn around and bit you.
This couldn't be any truer. It's sad when I stumble across a blog or website that is trying to be an authority but in reality, they are making themselves look bad because they are just publishing garbage content that isn't accurate. It will usually be filled with grammatical and spelling errors alongside the inaccurate information.
It doesn't take long to research a topic and then write on it. Hell, people can just rewrite what someone already wrote and they would be considered an authority on the subject in a short amount of time lol :D
