I'm considering selling one of my websites but have heard some pretty bad stories about people getting stung.
This site is on a 5 year old domain and makes about 100+ dollars a month...not much but considering I never touch it, it's a pretty good money-maker.
Can anyone tell me the proper process/steps that the buyer and I need to go through?
Please only helpful answers here and flippa etc I already know about.

i would recommend use sites like flippa.com,websitebroker.com for selling your website. These sites , expecially flippa, throughly authenticate buyer and seller.
Also if you are selling sites, always asked atleast 50 to 70% in advance before transfering domain.

My brother has used flippa.com and he was able to sell one of his sites for $2300. Use a middle-man thats for sure. Someone that takes money from the buyer in trust and gives it to the seller once its transferred.

Using a third party marketplace can be a great help if you want to flip a domain or a website. You should also enable escrow payment.

Isn’t it scary to sell a website to people you do not know? I wonder how the arrangement would be. Unlike selling a car where the prospective buyer would request for a test drive, what is the standard with the website regarding the buyer and seller? I’m also ignorant of the value of the website hence I am interested in this discussion.
