If you want to learn seo, I recommend purchasing a domain and using this as your seo tester site. You dont have to worry about losing ranks with a tester domain and making mistakes only helps you gain experience.
To get some ideas, join some seo forums and start asking questions, and thwn test out some of the tips and advice people give you.
You will have to spend some money if you want to get really good but if you plan to sell services, it should be considered an investment.

You can find many SEO tutorials online. A simple Google search will give you access to a wide range of information on SEO. However, these tutorials might overwhelm you, therefore, I suggest you to enroll in SEO course and learn everything associated with SEO. Udemy is a wonderful platform to learn everything including SEO.
