Well, I'm pretty sure they don't see themselves as God, but they do have the market cornered when it comes to users searching for something.
I've never heard someone say "Just Bing It!" or "Just Yahoo Search It!" because everyone is saying "Just Google It!"
They weren't necessarily the first to market, but they were the quickest to grow, and they kept adapting while innovating at the same time. They stayed ahead of the competition and kept their users happy for the most part. They're branching out into various sectors, not just internet searches, and that means multiple revenue streams to push the entire company into the stratosphere lol. Yahoo and Bing are huge but they are nowhere close to the size of Google, which is why people keep using Google for searches.
You can either adapt to Googles standards or you can settle for 10% of your normal traffic that will then come from Bing and Yahoo lol :D

n3m0 Well, we should admit that most surfers on the planet will use google first to find anything. So yeah, as long as there is no big competitor against them, they can do whatever they want lol just imho, n3m0
