When you do search engine marketing, you can rank for paid search listing for a given keyword. However, this will not influence your search engine rank page. In other paid search engine listing is an advertisement displayed during the search for the given keywords. This is the first time that I have encountered this issue of a paid search engine listing. My idea of it is that you pay to advertise in the search engine that when there is a search, the search engine will include your link in the search list. I’m sure that will be an advantage in getting traffic and if the traffic you get can pay for the advertisement then it is wise to continue with the paid search listing.

Not directly, no. But in my experience, I have seen a good correlation with sites that run paid ads in search at the start of their SEO. I often use tools like Ahrefs, Semrush, Majestic to track results. For SEO, behavioral factors as well as brand are very important, and SEM can help with this.
