Give the visitors something for free, in exchange for signing up on your subscriber list. It doesn't need to be anything very special, but make it looking worth the signup.

If you just spam your links over social networks, without targeting or whatever, you will get far less subscribers, and also the ones that you will get will be very low q, and probably useless.

Engage and be polite. Obviously providing a good service, delivering on time and over-delivering helps, but be personable. Don't just put your boiler plate response in your order forms, sound like a human and be a good person and if you have good services, people will subscribe to you. You'll see.
